OIL ANALYSIS

Toga GC 2

High-sensitivity laboratory solution with vacuum degassing – ideal for acceptance, service and heat-run tests.

The fully automatic gas-in-oil analysis Toga GC 2 uses mercury-free vacuum degassing and analyses all 11 dissolved gases as well as the total gas content to ASTM D3612 and IEC 60567. This lets you detect gas formation from thermal faults or electrical discharges early and ensure your critical infrastructure is ready for the demands of today and tomorrow.

Features

All benefits at a glance

Fully automatic

Fully automatic process without additional sample preparation – user-friendly menu navigation via the Windows software.

Vacuum degassing

Multi-stage vacuum extraction without mercury to ASTM D3612 / IEC 60567 – with fully automatic cleaning, no carry-over.

Total gas content (TGC)

Currently the only system that measures the total gas content precisely during degassing – a clear indication of thermal, electrical or mechanical faults.

Highest sensitivity

Analysis of the 11 dissolved gases down to just 0.1 ppm for hydrocarbons – even new insulating oils can be assessed reliably.

Quick cooling

Very fast measurement sequence thanks to rapid cooling to start the next measurement – ideal for the heat-run test.

Optional autosampler

Upgradeable with an autosampler for 16 or 32 oil samples – contamination-free, reproducible series measurements.

Process

How the analysis works

From syringe to standard-compliant result – the Toga GC 2 performs degassing, gas-chromatographic analysis and evaluation fully automatically.

01

Insert syringe

Place the oil sample (30–50 ml) into the sample tray – manually or via the optional autosampler.

02

Vacuum degassing

Multiple vacuum extraction with a mercury-free diaphragm pump – incl. measurement of the total gas content.

03

GC analysis

Separation and detection via TCD, FID and methanizer with two micro-packed columns.

04

Evaluation

Results of all 11 gases incl. total gas content – fault diagnosis via the software expert system.

Expert System software

The Toga GC 2 comes with the Expert System software. Apply various diagnostic methods or design your own method with individual gas concentrations as the basis for condition assessment.
