Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under commercial or tax law); in the latter case, deletion takes place once these grounds no longer apply.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
The easiest way to withdraw your consent to the statistical analysis (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) is via the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. For all other consents, an informal message by e-mail to us is sufficient.
Right to object to data collection in special cases (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right at any time to object to the processing of your personal data on grounds relating to your particular situation. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of breaches of data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged breach. For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries or registrations that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to advertising e-mails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the legal notice obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. 4. Data collection on our website
Cookies
Our web pages use what are known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and saved by your browser. They do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses.
We use two types of cookies:
Necessary cookies are required to operate the website. These include a cookie that stores your chosen language and a cookie that records your decision in the cookie notice so that we do not have to ask you again on every visit. These cookies are stored without consent on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR and Section 25 (2) TDDDG; we have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free provision of our services.
Statistics cookies are set by Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. They are stored exclusively after your express consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, Section 25 (1) TDDDG). As long as you have not consented, these services are not loaded and set no cookies.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Consent via the cookie notice
When you first visit our website, we display a notice in which you can decide whether we may analyse your usage statistically. If you choose “Necessary only”, no analytics services are loaded. If you choose “Accept all”, you consent to the use of Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
We store your decision in a cookie so that it is retained on subsequent visits. You can call up the notice again at any time and change your selection via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. If you withdraw your consent, the cookies set by the analytics services are deleted and the services are no longer loaded.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
Browser type and browser version
Operating system used
Referrer URL
Host name of the accessing computer
Time of the server request
IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.
Contact and enquiry form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form – name, company, e-mail address, telephone number, the selected topic or product and your message – will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the form, and on the basis of Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. You can withdraw your consent at any time. An informal message by e-mail to us is sufficient. The legality of the data processing operations carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
The data you enter in the form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Registration for seminars and events
If you register for a seminar or event via this website, we process the data you provide: company or name, billing address, e-mail address for invoicing, telephone number, the names and e-mail addresses of the registered participants, the selected modules or dates, and an optional note.
We process this data exclusively in order to handle your registration, inform you about the event, organise your participation and issue the invoice. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (contract or pre-contractual measures). For invoicing and accounting records, Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR additionally applies in conjunction with retention periods under commercial and tax law; we retain these records for ten years accordingly.
Data is not passed on to third parties unless this is necessary to hold the event (e.g. to the conference venue for room bookings) or you have consented.
5. Analytics tools
We use the following services exclusively with your consent. As long as you have not consented in the cookie notice, none of these tools is loaded, no data is transmitted to the providers and no cookies are set. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies that enable an analysis of the use of the website. Among other things, pages viewed, time spent, approximate location at city level, the device, browser and operating system used, and the origin of visitors (e.g. search engine or referring website) are recorded. Your IP address is truncated and not stored permanently. We use this analysis to understand which content is in demand and to tailor our offering accordingly.
The storage of cookies and the use of this analysis technology take place exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG.
Data may also be transferred to Google servers in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the adequacy decision of the European Commission. In addition, we have concluded a data processing agreement with Google.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Microsoft Clarity
This website uses Microsoft Clarity, an analytics service provided by Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (“Microsoft”).
Clarity records how visitors interact with our website – such as mouse movements, scrolling behaviour, clicks and page changes – and presents this in aggregated form as heatmaps and as replays of individual sessions. This allows us to identify where our pages are unclear or cumbersome. Entries in form fields are masked automatically; we receive neither your entries in plain text nor your name.
The service is used exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR and Section 25 (1) TDDDG.
Here too, data may be transferred to Microsoft servers in the USA. Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Further details can be found in Microsoft's privacy statement: https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-gb/privacystatement
6. Plugins and tools
Fonts
This website uses what are known as web fonts for a uniform presentation of typefaces. The font files are stored on our own server and delivered from there. When a page is called up, no connection is therefore established to Google Fonts or any other external font service, and no data is transmitted to third parties.
Videos and images
All videos and images embedded on this website are stored on our own server. We do not use YouTube, Vimeo or comparable plugins. No data is transmitted to third parties when a video is played.
Links to social networks
On our pages you will find links to social networks (e.g. LinkedIn) as well as buttons for sharing a page. These are simple links, not embedded plugins. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider once you actively click one of these links. The respective provider is then responsible for processing your data on the target page.
